Celebrating Kartini Day: Webinar “Women in Industry: Strong, Inspiring, and Sustainable”
In commemoration of Kartini Day, Cipta Nusa hosted a webinar titled “Women in Industry: Strong, Inspiring, and Sustainable.” This event is one of our forms of support and motivation for women in Indonesia and around the world.
Through the #IClass session, we discussed the role of women in the industrial sector with two inspiring speakers:
- Mbak Anggia Sihombing – Manager of Public and Relations Department, PT Shenhua Guohua Pembangkitan Jawa Bali.
- Mbak Nindya Puspaningtyas – Operator at the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas).
They shared insights about the strength and achievements of women in the industry and provided inspiration for women to enter and thrive in strategic sectors.
“When women support each other, incredible things happen.” – Anggia Sihombing
Mbak Nindya also shared,
“Our role as women, especially in upstream oil and gas, is significant. We must believe in our abilities and be ready to compete with our male counterparts, as we truly have the same potential and role.”
The Evolution of Women’s Roles in the Industrial Sector
The role of women in the industrial sector has evolved significantly, from domestic roles to holding strategic positions. Women’s contributions are increasingly recognized and in demand, although challenges such as the gender pay gap, stereotypes, and the double burden still exist.
The presence of women brings fresh perspectives that enhance innovation and create more inclusive work environments. Achieving gender equality requires collaboration from the government, companies, and society through affirmative policies, training, and support for work-life balance.
Women: A Key Pillar for Sustainable Growth
Indonesian women have proven themselves to be an unstoppable force in the industrial world. Their ability to produce quality products and develop successful businesses has contributed to diversity, innovation, and economic growth.
Creating an inclusive and supportive work environment, regardless of gender, is key to unlocking significant opportunities for sustainable development.
